Workshop Documentation and Logistical Support Consultancy – Meghalaya, India

The Sanitation Learning Hub will trial and test a series of strategic engagement workshops between district governments, rights holder organisations and development partners, in collaboration with the Government of Meghalaya, India. This work is funded by funded by USAID’s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Partnerships and Learning for Sustainability 2 (WASHPaLS #2) Project.

At these events, participants will identify adaptations and actions which they can take to their existing sanitation interventions to support more equitable outcomes.

The first event is scheduled to take place 27th-29th February 2024 with subsequent events taking place every 12 weeks. All events will be in Shillong. The length of each event and proposed dates are outlined below:

Workshop one (3 days): 27th-29th February 2024

Workshop two (1 day): May 2024 (date to be confirmed)

Workshop three (1 day): August 2024 (date to be confirmed)

Workshop four (3 days): November 2024 (date to be confirmed)

We are looking for a rapporteur to document and provide a report of each event and provide some additional logistical support.

Activities will include:

  • Documenting each of the workshops outlined above.
  • Attending and taking notes throughout the event.
  • Digitisation of paper-based notes and group work.
  • Collating and summarising presentations and preliminary work undertaken by workshop participants.
  • Producing a report within 7 days of each the workshop, and responding to comments within 7 days of receiving them.
  • Participating in planning and coordination meetings between SLH and the Government of Meghalaya.
  • Supporting the documentation of adaptations and actions shared and discussed at the workshops.
  • Responding to requests for information from SLH and Government stakeholders when required.
  • Overseeing participant registration and feedback processes.
  • Providing additional logistical support when required.

Ideally the candidate will be based in Meghalaya or Northeastern India. For those not residing in Shillong, travel, accommodation, and subsistence costs will be covered.

Eligibility

To be successful you will need:

  • Knowledge and experience of sanitation and hygiene programming.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in Northeastern India, preferably Meghalaya.
  • Experience of being a lead rapporteur at workshops or conferences.
  • Strong oral and written English language skills.
  • A permit to work in India.
  • Be able to attend all events.
  • It is preferable that the candidate is based in Shillong, however strong candidates will be considered who reside in other parts of the country.

It is anticipated that the assignment should be completed within 15 days spread out over 2024, at a rate of up to £150/day. The deadline for applications is 03 January 2024. The successful applicant will need to provide 1-2 references before contracting.
